On September 30th, 2016 the band released their junior album "Be Nothing" which won the hearts of many emo and pop punk fans. I caught Boston Manor's set on July 29th in San Antonio, and I can tell you firsthand they do not disappoint, if you enjoy emo/pop punk music, they will be a new favorite for you.

Movements are a post-hardcore, emo band from Orange County, California. The band consists of Austin Cressey (bass), Spencer York (drums), Ira George (guitar) and Patrick Miranda (vocals). The group released their first album titled Outgrown Things in March of 2016. The album features six songs that can be described as heartfelt, emotional, and genuine. Some of my favorite songs from Outgrown Things are Nineteen, Kept and Vacant Home.
I was given the opportunity to take photos of Movements at the Vans Warped Tour in San Antonio on July 29th, 2017. The experience blew me away, Movements had an earlier set and were the first band I took photos of. Movements entered the stage and started off their set with Kept. The audience began to sing along to the words and some even began crowdsurfing. As their set continued the energy was ever present even in the 100 degree Texas heat. The group even played a new song off of their new album (no release date yet). The artists are expected to release their sophomore album soon. Movements never disappoint live, they are a band who care about what their fans think and put their hearts into every song they write. Go check out Movements today!

Burning Years are a five-piece pop punk/emo band originating in Austin, Texas. The band consists of Sherman Chase-Taylor (vocals), Chris Barnes (drums), Joey Held (guitar), Mikey Pena (guitar) and Devon Sepeda (bass). The group released their first EP back in 2014 titled "Pavements". In 2016, the band released a second album titled "Coming Clean" which features songs such as "State Lines", "Misprint" and "Distance". Recently in 2017 the musicians released a split with Locket, who are also from Texas who recently disbanded. Burning Years will always be a band that sounds lyrically grounded and down to earth, and are not afraid to exhibit that people are not always one emotion such as sad, happy or angry.
I recently had the chance to speak with Sherman Chase-Taylor, vocalist of Burning Years at their show on August 7th, 2017 at the Mohawk in Austin, Texas.
Q: What inspired you to become a band?
A: Honestly, just the thought of hanging out and playing music we want to hear with our best friends.
Q: What bands would you love to tour with in the future?
A: Brand New, Third Eye Blind, Taking Back Sunday & Earth, Wind & Fire. Hit your boys up!
Q: How long have you been a band for?
A: We've been a band just a little under three years.

Trophy Eyes are an Australian punk rock band from Newcastle. The band consists of Jeremy Winchester (bass guitar), Andrew Hallett (lead guitar), Kevin Cross ( rhythm guitar), Callum Cramp (drums) and John Floreani (lead vocals) The group released their most recent album on October 14th, 2016 titled "Chemical Miracle". The title of the record speaks to idea that everything you know and understand is "chemical" and everything you don't know and can't understand is a "miracle". Some of my favorite songs off of their sophomore album include: Chlorine, Breathe You In and Daydreamer.
I had the opportunity to take photos of Trophy Eyes on July 29th, 2017 at San Antonio Warped Tour. Even given the 107 degree Texas heat, the group did not disappoint. Trophy eyes are a phenomenal band and have an energetic stage presence. The crowd was interacting with the band and jumping up and down shouting the lyrics to every song. Trophy eyes are a band I have longed to see for years and years now and they were definitely worth the wait. Go check out Trophy eyes today!

Homesafe, a pop punk band from Illinois are currently on their summer tour with Free Throw and Heart Attack Man. The band released their debut album in 2016 titled "Evermore". Some of songs I enjoy off of this album include: Hourglass, Resolve, and Stranger. The band consists of: Ryan Rumchaks (vocals, guitar), Tyler Alberton ( vocals, bass), and Emanuel Duran (drums) and Joe Colesby (guitar). Homesafe have a similar sound to Joe Taylor's Knuckle Puck, yet they add their own style and flavor with heart wrenching lyrics and vigor. I strongly enjoyed the bands set at the Sidewinder in Austin, Tx and look forward to seeing this talented band again.
