Burning Years are a five-piece pop punk/emo band originating in Austin, Texas. The band consists of Sherman Chase-Taylor (vocals), Chris Barnes (drums), Joey Held (guitar), Mikey Pena (guitar) and Devon Sepeda (bass). The group released their first EP back in 2014 titled "Pavements". In 2016, the band released a second album titled "Coming Clean" which features songs such as "State Lines", "Misprint" and "Distance". Recently in 2017 the musicians released a split with Locket, who are also from Texas who recently disbanded. Burning Years will always be a band that sounds lyrically grounded and down to earth, and are not afraid to exhibit that people are not always one emotion such as sad, happy or angry.
I recently had the chance to speak with Sherman Chase-Taylor, vocalist of Burning Years at their show on August 7th, 2017 at the Mohawk in Austin, Texas.
